Pharmaceutical Industry
Used as a catalyst in various reactions, in pharmaceutical production for the synthesis of medicines, preparation of active pharmaceutical ingredients, and as a catalyst for organic synthesis;
Mainly used in coupling reactions such as Sonogashira coupling; carbonylation catalysts for halogenated compounds; catalysts for the conversion of halogenated alkanes to aldehydes, carboxylic acids, and amides. It also facilitates the reaction of halogenated alkanes with acetylene to form carbon-chain-extended alkynes;
Used in coupling reactions such as Suzuki, Kumada, and Negishi reactions. In the Suzuki reaction, carboxylic acids undergo decarboxylation under catalytic amounts of bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium chloride to form α-olefins;
Applied in isodensity centrifugation for separating various types of DNA;
Used as a research reagent in biochemical studies.
