Product Properties:
Colorless or white monoclinic crystal with a density of 2.71 g/cm³. Soluble in water, alcohol, and glacial acetic acid, with increased solubility in concentrated hydrochloric acid; melts at temperatures above 37.7°C.
Applications:
Commonly used in the chemical industry as a reducing agent, mordant, decolorizer, and analytical reagent. It also serves as a reducing agent for dye intermediates, a stabilizer for fragrances, and is used in the cement industry, silvering for mirrors, electroplating, and in the pharmaceutical industry for drug synthesis and as a catalyst in organic synthesis.
