Product Properties:

White powder. Anhydrous cerium chloride is soluble in water and acids, decomposes in hot water, and is easily soluble in ethanol and pyridine. It is insoluble in ether and benzene. It is highly hygroscopic and forms hydroxide or oxychloride precipitates when exposed to alkalis. 

Applications:

Used as a catalyst in the preparation of active pharmaceutical ingredients and organic synthesis, as a raw material for petroleum catalysts, and also in hydrogen storage battery materials.
